Welcome to the SJP Consulting website, a corporate financial consulting company based in Brisbane, Australia.

SJP Consulting is essentially a one-man shop - my name is Steve Parton.

I am however often part of a team, whether it be investigating the feasibility of a major proposed new piece of infrastructure or developing a Basel II bank capital management solution.

My office is on the Brisbane river and in the numerous cafes of New Farm and Brisbane city.

What we do

With a professional background in banking and finance (Bank of America and Westpac), key areas of activity tend to be focussed in two distinct areas:

• Infrastructure financial analysis, mostly in transport and energy sectors, driven by the growth in Public Private Partnerships (PPP) in recent years.
• Financial institutions risk management consulting, driven by the imminent arrival of the Basel II regulatory regime in Australia next year.

While these are quite different areas they reflect my main areas of professional endeavour over the last 20 years or so, as well as current market demand. 

I also do a fair bit of MS Excel/VB/Access development work. This is generally done as part of a broader analytical brief, but can result in 'leave-behind' tools which can be used further by the client.
